Q u o t e: Where can I send suggestions for games?
We appreciate the time and energy people put into making suggestions for our current and future games. Our company policy, however, prevents us from accepting for review any unsolicited ideas. Often in our industry, an idea being submitted will be identical or similar to one already used by other companies, or already being independently developed by or for a company. Therefore, Blizzard Entertainment® has adopted the unalterable policy of refusing to accept or look at any unsolicited submissions or ideas. You can post your suggestions under the appropriate category in the most relevant game forum
this legal statement is missing something blizzard has stated elsewhere, which is that developers read these forums actively. so they're saying "we don't read your suggestions, but we do". isn't that funny? isn't that just seething credibility?
darkness.calls- is probably right about them using this policy as a reason not to read and respond to suggestions, but I think doing that blizzard is pretentious and illogical in many ways. here's one:
I don't think this policy applies at all to many suggestions, because they're suggestions that can only exist in the game environment blizzard created, or they don't introduce anything new.
for example if you wanted to change the creep camps on a map that seemed to have a pattern, but the pattern had breaks as if the map maker made a mistake, like on Swamps of Sorrow; or if there was a break in the pattern of what items creeps drop, Dragon Fire, that would be a suggestion that only exists in a blizzard created world and it wouldn't be stolen from another company.
or if you wanted them to change the match-making, because some people are currently waiting half an hour and others find them in 1 minute, and you wanted them to bring back the old match-making they already had, it wouldn't be a new suggestion. it wouldn't be stolen from another company.
I think it's just a bad excuse that they use to ignore their customers. just give the money and go away.
when I asked them about the failed patch notes with a support ticket they used this excuse to not discuss it, until I brought up these points of view and they then replied that my suggestion will be "forwarded to the appropriate department" - appropriate department likely being the trash can.
