If you're playing the Witcher 2, and bought it retail, you're probably crashing or freezing incessantly and getting a poor framerate for what you'd expect your machine to output.

The problem is that CDPR put SecuRom on the disc version and it mucked up the entire affair.
To fix it (I can't post a link) find somewhere to download the .exe and paul.dll file from the Good Old Games (GOG) version of the game, which is DRM free.

I was crashing (literally) every five minutes, sometimes not even that long between crashes, and getting rid of the DRM solved that and the game runs drastically better as well.
