In my experience with Windows 7, alt+tab doesn’t correct the display issue as it did in the older OS. The information posted by you was well informative. It’s a shame Blizzard hasn’t resolve this minor issue.
TO: Lasthour1,
This was my first time trying to play StarCraft on Windows 7. Once the game was installed, it launched and displayed fine. The screen became discolored when Battle.net downloaded the update.
- What displays normal: playing a match, off-line campaign menu, and Battle.net interface.
- What displays distorted: Cover picture into the main menu, when the game is first launched. Multi-player Gateway Selection screen, joining/creating a game lobby, and Battle.net interface players list.
My Suggestion: Visit iCCup.com and download “iCCup Anti-hacker Launcher”. Once downloaded set it up. Before you launch the game through the Launcher; check-mark “Window Mode”. StarCraft should display with no issues.
Tips Using Launcher: Once logged into Battle.net, the screen should downsize. Top right corner you’ll see buttons you can turn on/off by clicking on them. I keep [2x] highlighted and the button to the left of it as well. That arrow button will prevent your mouse from hovering off the game screen when you are in a game match. iCCup site should have FAQs about anything else you might be wondering about the Launcher. Enjoy!
If anyone finds a solution without the need of a Launcher or lowering down the screen resolution, please share with us, thank you.
