Q u o t e:
Just a stupid ideal here. Since i have to work in real life, like most people do, Why not put a 8 hour cap per character per 24 hour period. It would cause the bots to only run for 8 hours at a time, allowing the people that do work and only have a few hours to play actualy compete for ladder rankings. The main drawback i see is if they start making different toons to run the time the main bot has to sit. And while were at it, make a special link to report bots and get them banned. Bots spam the game name and other info after every run, so if you take a ss more then 2 times while they spam, that should be proof to ban them and delete them from the ladder. I dunno, what does everyone else think?
No time restrictions.

Instead, Blizzard should make a program that'll randomly scan and filter messages sent through both in-game chat and lobby chat and flag all accounts that either spam item sites or constantly repeat the same lines of text over and over (public Baal bots, for instance). After a certain amount of time, Blizzard goes through the captured and flagged messages, banning those that are spambots and watching those that match MF bots.

If Blizzard could actually eavesdrop on an entire game room, that'd make catching and stopping MF bots even easier. Perhaps random automated messages from Blizzard to those suspected of botting over different days and times?
