Add a "Req Inv" button to the party screen. Put it where the "Invite/Cancel" button is--you see this button next to partied players, when you're not in a party. Click it and members of the party see "FooBar would like to be invited to your party." 30 second cooldown. Or make it a toggle--when it's on, that player's "Invite" button has green text. Inviting a player who has clicked "Req Inv" automatically adds them to your party. In addition, squelching a player hides their invite requests.
I believe this is an excellent idea. It's funny; I was about ready to suggest something similar, but you beat me to it!
Well done. I think this puts any of the initial concerns I had about "PP" (Party Please) cries to rest.
Q u o t e:
Now that we've designed a good solution, the hard part: Convincing Blizzard to let their legacy team actually implement it. Personally, I don't care if it takes a month--this is important and needs to be addressed. Nearly every game I join has spammers in it, and it's getting old.
Ah yes. Persuading Blizzard.... this does seem to be the big issue as of late. I hope this idea is feasible enough to be considered. Also, I hope that this thread generates enough attention for it to catch their eye.
At the very least I'd just like them to say why they won't put it in the game, then at least I wouldn't have to waste my time anymore.
Thanks for your suggestions, and I'm tired of the spam bots too.
