Q u o t e: Out of the 10 million(rough estimate) playing WoW, at least 2 million(20%) of them will try D3. That's not even taking into consideration non-WoW players.
Let's say 3 million people play D3. We won't even need bots for the AH to be saturated. Bots (like in WoW), won't have a lot of influence on the economy. And with a population like that, there will be thousands of farm-bots, which will be left alone for the most part, unless they become a nuisance, or are reported by players and/or detected by whatever software Blizzard come up with to detect them.
Bots are just automated players. You could probably equate a single bot to 3 or 4 hardcore players.
Loot in diablo is random, any item can drop off any mob. In wow you have to have 25 people working in tandem in a specific instance killing specific monsters to get endgame loot. Not only that but the loot is BOUND. You cannot say since this doesn't happen in wow it doesn't happen in diablo. Bots in wow only clear trash, there is no such thing as a trash mob in diablo.
To say a program being implemented into diablo that does not have to eat, sleep, work or any other kind of activities will have very little impact is false. How much does a normal gamer play a day? a couple hours? That is at least a 1000 percent increase on potential drops for a bot. Bots don't ruin the wow economy because they cant farm anything that has substantial worth. If you took the drop system from diablo and implemented it into wow, bots farming normal, non-instanced mobs would have access to the very very best loot in the game at, as you said, 3 to 4 times the rate of the most hardcore players. Wow would be absolutely broken.
Bots are very very very bad for a economy like Diablo's. The economies of wow and diablo are light years apart.
There is something weird about your responses.... no one I ever heard on these forums, ignorant, stupid or otherwise, would be fine with such an enormously better chance at getting loot. You openly admit these people, that put forward zero effort, have 3-4 times better loot than the craziest (hardcore) few percentile of gamers. When online gaming has no purpose other than to provide player to player interactions? My mind is blown.
