Q u o t e: So an identifier to know if the item worn was looted by the one using it.
Sure this'd help for the RMAH. But what about people playing together. And if person A loots it but gives t person B. Person B still earnt it but didn't loot it so they don't get the tag. Maybe make the mark for items bought from the AH or RMAH. But then spamming the trade channels would bypass this.
So a good idea in theory but in practice not so much. And not needed so much. Cause there's no world to brag infront of. Only 3 others in your instance of the game.
Team fortress 2 isn't a game that revolves around getting the best items possible. By buying items in Team Fortress 2 it gives you a slight edge, but it doesn't take away what makes the game fun. In Diablo 3 the reason I (and many) play the game is that get the best items possible and even get some respect for it in the process. This feature would both appeal to the players that want to buy items (by leaving the RMAH system intact) and the players that want to genuinely distinguish themselves (by having a unique tag).

When player A (who got the item) gives the item to player B (who wants it) AND player B was in the game while this happened, the ownership will be transfered to player B. This would solve that problem.
