There should be a middle ground though buddy, Blizzard should be the ones capable of making such a system and that is what I am trying to get accross...They are the inovators in online game play, the Diablo Franchise has always been about a strong single player base a long with a multi player base...The middle ground should be reached for their fans. Im sure they have ideas on how to do this, yet obviously they aren't capable. It is a shame but I hope us voicing ourselves will get them to go back to the drawing board and figure it out...
I agree. In concept. They SHOULD. And we should all lay down our weapons, and humanity can live in peace and harmony forever and ever!
Sorry about the sarcasm, but it's somewhat true. It's practically impossible to keep people out of code they have access to, and from exploiting it. The only way to "guarantee" is to not have the code where they can access it. And that's just going to make offline play hard.
Not impossible, and if Blizzard can solve the problem, I'd be overjoyed. But I don't think they intend to try, to be quite frank. The cost/benefit just doesn't look good, and they ARE a for profit company. Despite what some might think.
To paraphrase something I said in another thread, I admire you for sticking it to Blizzard and being persistent. if it weren't for people like you, I would assume we would NEVER have offline play. But, hell, fans like you make change, and if Blizz can pull it off, kudos to them, and kudos to you and the others who intelligently persisted for the feature, despite ALL reasons (save the sad, specific ones that can't play meaningfully) to the contrary.
I hope Blizz can figure something out. Not because I think they should, or want them to, but because it's clearly important to other people like yourself.
