I thought about bringing this point up a while back. After playing Diablo 1 for years, and Diablo 2 for years, the majority of games to my recollection were always PVE oriented.
That being said, whether or not PVP makes up the majority is a moot point. This is a PVE game, and as such the very designers have stated over and over again that it's a PVE Cooperative game first.
The people that are hardcore pro PVP side tend to be extremely out of touch when you consider that we constantly hear arguments for "Going back to the way things were" while apparently lacking the simple fact that Diablo 2 was designed entirely around PVE. PVP was just an after thought, and the same for Diablo 1.
Now, with all that being said, I and many of you are always for more options. I liked playing PVP even though it was without any form of balance, and had basically no support. I didn't do it but a very small % of the time, but it was worth doing all the same.
So I'm also in favor of saying anyone putting down PVP needs to rethink it. It's still a viable function that fans want. But it's just the whiplash effect we see from the threads constantly complaining that PVP gets shafted so it's understandable.
Long story short, if you voice your opinion that's fine, but if you go at it with negative overtones (regardless of your position) it's probably not going to be well received. In fact, I've seen some threads where I'm thinking "Yeah I like this function too! But man I really hate saying I agree with this OP about anything, just based on how he presents it."
The game is being designed as much as possible around everyone, not any one select group.

The slanted eyes, so unearthly a gray color that they seized the attention of all who looked into them. Yet almost immediately those same eyes repelled, for in them Kentril sensed his own mortality.
