  • 3. Re: HC PvP and Low Level Balance   07/24/2011 09:05:15 AM PDT

Q u o t e:
Given the nature of hc pvp, it will be easiest to play plentifully at the lowest levels pvp is available.

As an aside, i thoroughly enjoyed "ironman" games in d2 whereby you would level up to level nine, and then immediately duel to the death (hc) with just the gear you had acquired along the way. The only issue with this style of pvp is that it was very imbalanced, a few select builds dominated the format.

How well balanced will low lvl pvp be?

Not to draw references to WoW, but the lowest lvl twink bracket is also very imbalanced, dominated thoroughly by hunters and rogues.

If low lvl hc pvp is well balanced, i expect a ton of people will play it and enjoy it. What do you guys think?

I think for this reason alone, a little extra balancing effort by the devs at these low lvls would pay dividends well.

No...First of all...Iron Man duels were imba because of the Skills available. If you are familiar with an actual LLD, it's the gear that makes the difference.

The demand for HC LLD in D3 will be no different than in D2. Sure you can make a LLD character and enter him into the Arena to get slaughtered... It is the GEAR that is important.

No one cares about losing a level 9, for instance. It is the gear that is a problem to be lost.

...I'm just curious how HC loot duels will work...that...will..be..baller!

Probably not a "loot corpse" option because the slained could just leave. It'll probably be something similar to that WoW "item roll box", where you just "get" the items.
