Mostly I'm happy with the way it is now. When you pick Whirlwind, for example, you pretty much know what you're getting regardless of what rune you chose to use. You pick the skill, customize with a rune; each skill has a particular mechanic, each rune is an enhancement of the same mechanic.
I don't really like the effects that change the skill because you don't know what you're getting/missing by picking that skill or not. There's a reason why you are given a skill list to pick from - so you can make an informed decision about picking Whirlwind over, say, Earthquake. Therefore, it's frustrating when a rune makes the skill work completely differently when you didn't have that information before hand.
"Ray of Frost" and "Indigo Ray of Frost" are completely different skills - so how come I only get information about "Ray of Frost" when picking a new skill? It makes me feel shorted and I seriously wonder if I'll have the time, gold, or inclination to experiment with ~10 different attacks skills each with potentially 2-3 significantly different mechanics (through runes) PER class.
You're kidding me, right?
Awww, he doesnt have time to explore all the effects =(.... poor guy...
Wait! cancel D3 !, and make it again, but only 1 class with only 1 skill...so this guy can play without missing anything....ty.
