I am sad. Customizing appearance is just as important as the stats on your gear. This is not an opinion, this is a fact.

DCUO has a system where you can change what your gear looks like at ANY given time, regardless of what gear you are wearing.

Anarchy Online had "armor" for defense/stats, and it had "visual" for looks. The visual stuff layed on top of the armor. So if you wanted to be in a full suit of X armor, but look like a nurse in a skirt you could.

Aion has a system that allows you to "morph" your current gear into new gear with a new look, but the same stats.

Look is important in any game, and moreso today than ever. The fact we can't customize our look regardless of what gear we are wearing really makes me just, sad.

I think the blacksmith should be able to take the stats of some uber gear, be it weapon, armor or shield, morph those stats into another item of basic equivalent item type, and the new item results in a new look with the same stats. I musta posted this on these forums 2 or 3 years ago and I am again VERY sad this system didn't make it into the game within that amount of time.
