Different cursors, in my opinion, are somehow stupid, because they will meld with the landscapes and/or spells, and you will have to care more about tracking it than fighting, which is what happened in D2 with the map sometimes. So, for me, a black'n'white feature or similar, with no bright colors and customizable will fit all the requirements.
