What about the endgame content Blizzard has planned for D3? They've said there's some unannounced endgame stuff to challenge max level players in it.

D2 had -no- endgame content of any sort, just runs of various bosses, and PvP.

I think D3 will have a lot more to do after you beat it than D2. You lose levelling, but you're gonna gain a lot of other stuff.
