Well, Bashiok, I was trying to explain that based on exsperience with a similar system in Torchlight, not having to be selective about what items you pick up has a negative impact on the game. Instead of deciding for myself what was valuable enough to keep in my inventory unil I could sell it, I could just sell everything immediately without any thought. It seems similar with the Salvage Chest. Just grab everything and scrap it.
Plus with the Salvage Chest, at the end of each fight you run around grabbing everything in reach, move them six at a time to to the chest, click the button, and repeat until it's all gone, then move on to the next fight. That seems like a lot of extra stuff to do.
To be clear, I like the idea of Salvage. I just don't like the idea of grabbing every item that drops. There needs to be trash to make the good stuff more appealing.
