Q u o t e:
Bashiok! You responded to me! I feel like a giddy schoolgirl that had the cutest boy in school smile at me. :-D
I've never understood the reaction some people seem to have with celebrities (as much as Bashiok can be called a celebrity). He's just a guy who gets paid to moderate the forums and, presumably, facilitate communication between the developers and the fan base. Seems like a cool guy, and it's certainly a cool job (where do I sign up?), but he sits on the toilet like everyone else.

Anyway, back on topic...

Q u o t e:
This response is actually pretty comforting to me. Since playing LoD since 2001, I have never felt compelled to equip my Barbarians with staves. Ever. Not once. Except that time my Barb found an ethereal Ribcraker.
Being able to have a Barb beating the crap out of demons with a staff actually sounds pretty damn fun. Kind of like the Monk from the Sierra D1 expansion.

Q u o t e:
I was more concerned about armor choices. I was a little worried that most of the armors would become class-restricted, and now I think it is likely that most won't.
It really makes less sense for a diminutive wizard to be romping about int full plate mail than it does for one to be wielding a two-handed weapon. But I guess it doesn't make sense for anyone to be romping about in full plate mail period. Ah well.

Q u o t e:
Weapons only fill one or two slots on the equipment screen anyway
Yeah, but those are the two coolest slots.

Q u o t e:
though all the ninja-fanboys might be little put-off.
What does restricting Wizards from using 2Hers have to do with ninjas?

Q u o t e:
Have you even SEEN some of the rune combos they've come up with so far? Multi-strike / hydra rune (whatever) in the Skull of Flamey Awesomeness makes it FREAKIN BOUNCE!?!??!??!? Oh holy crap, was I pleased with that one.
Yeah, it was pretty cool. Haven't really seen any others that cool yet. Perhaps Blizzcon will change that.

Q u o t e:
They do good work, and I have yet to find a company with which I am more pleased.
You mean Blizzard North did good work. D3's team is only 1/3rd Blizzard North, so it's yet to be seen if they can live up to or surpass the standards set by them.

Sorry, I don't mean to try to make you unexcited about D3 or anything. You'll eventually join the ranks of us kill-joys all on your own. The wait does that to you. =p
