So... autostats and level requirements on items are in. Strength and Dexterity requirements on equipment are out. Right?

So, I am just looking for confirmation about how that plays into the different classes.

I assume that each item type would now have a level requirement based on what class is trying to equip it.

For instance, a Heavy Great Maul of Frickin' Lead might require a Barb to be level 20 to equip it, while a Wizard might have to be level 28.

Strength and Dexterity were able to help distinguish differences in equipment choices for different classes, although the mechanics of manually distributed stats were kinda broken in Diablo II. Stat distribution was broken enough that I don't fault the devs abandoning it, but I worry with a level-prerequisite system, there will no longer be any difference between one Barbarian and another (except for gender and what skills they use).

Any chance there might be additional requirements on some types of items beyond a (class-based) level requirement?
