Go watch the barbarian videos. When you are going to use whirlwind to kill a group of monsters, it still takes 3-4 passes to kill the whole group. I'm saying in those 3-4 spins, that each one looks different. So when you use leap/ranged attacks like that, they also look different. Maybe in a leap, he grabs his feet in the air, I dunno. The point is to not make the game look the same all the time. Because after the game has been out a few years and you are going through the motions cause you have done everything, it helps to have different animations and effects to cycle through to make it still unpredictable.
It's mainly visual, not involved with runes/changing the skill.
