But that doesn't solve the issue of low-mid level items losing value - if everyone can find it, and everyone who finds or buys it will eventually sell it, then eventually there will be more and more supply, and less demand.

Basically, demand is constant if not shrinking (low level folks who need Sigon's gloves), while supply is just growing and growing (people who outgrow / find sigons gloves), so value inherenty goes down. A currency-based economy does nothing to solve this.
