Q u o t e: I love the Idea aswell. In generall a catalog where every unique is placed in and where and when you found it first, would be great. so its worth collecting every item ;)
To get it even a bit further it would be funny to have a quest where you can personalize an Item like with Anya, but after doing it it is a registered uniquie (In case you used a rare item, ...) and it is from Now on droppable in every game. Therefore everybody could think of a story themself. To regulate the amount offf nonsense, coming into the game, a there could be weekly polls at a pub in Tristram where people can choose 3 new uniques every week ( Set points for value off the unique itself and for story behind it, there could be a scale from 1 - 100, where 1 is for no drop chance and 100 is at least a small dropchance, ...).
Oh, I could dream of so many things, ... :-P
Reminds me of a game I used to play called Mordor!! Love it! I would love for every unique/set/rune/etc to have a catalogue spot, and once you find these items you unlock them in such a catalogue. Maybe this could extend to a battle.net account though, rather than per character. Would be a lot of fun trying to search for every item you've never found, especially if it doesn't include trading, which it shouldn't.
This is actually an idea worth making its own thread, you should do that, IMO.
(btw I mean the catalogue with dates and info on when/how you unlocked the items you find, not the personalized items becoming registered uniques, which I dont like as much.
