What are you talking about! Before WW was nerfed to a pointless skill the spears and lances were the most bad-a$$ weapons you could have... Get a Lance with like +300% dmg and you ruled all mobs using WW. After WW got nerfed they pretty much were pointless but for a LONG time they ruled supreme.

WW is still a highly popular Barbarian build. I have no idea what you're talking about.
