Q u o t e:
I would rather wait for the game to come out then have it rushed ((fable anyone?))

I agree. Fable was indeed rushed. I'd also rather wait 1-2 years longer, if they just would take their time and make the game more customizable instead of this lazy crap about auto-stats.

Sure, they keep telling us that they have other things, other game-mechanics that they haven't revealed yet. But I still doubt that it will have anything to do with the stats whatsoever, except for maybe gear adding stats, which sucks.

They will probably introduce some new kind of system for the gear, similar to runes like in D2:LoD, just not as unbalanced and overpowered.

As they have decided that gear will be much more of a focus now than in Diablo 2, I'm quite certain that the system will have to be much bigger than the very simple gearsystem in previous titles.

As I have said before, you can't focus too much on one thing, and too little on another. It will be flawed, and show really well that it is.

You must combine every single aspect of the game into an united one. Say, all the mechanics that affect gamebalance: gear, stats and skills have to be working together. Stats must be affected by skills, skills must be affected by stats, stats must be affected by gear, gear must be affected by skills.

Maybe a kind of messy explanation, but that's how I see it. If they are combined and bound to one another, they will counter unbalanced parts of the systems. Say, a skill that truly is overpowered and defeats every foe easily, but requires you to have X amount of stat points in order to increase its skill level as well as a level requirement. If you want to maximize this overpowered skill - then you have to sacrifice hit points, defense and what not?

Maybe certain skills can only be used wearing a specific weapon or armor? Like with throwing knives, javelins and bows.

Gear could be a big factor as well. I'm not talking +1 all skills crap now, I have something else in mind which I'll have to explain later.

I'm a bit stressed out as I have to go for work, but you get my point, hopefully.

EDIT: Come to think of it, why even have a level requirement for skills? Why not simply have a stat requirement. That way, it depends on your stats, rather than your level on how soon you'll be able to use a skill. And as stats, will be added as you level, you can't really get it too early either.
